What is Briar Barn Inn’s pet policy?
Briar Barn Inn is a pet-free property. If a pet is in your possession and/or in your room, there is a $750 mandatory cleaning fee and the pet must be removed from the property immediately. Service animals under ADA Guidelines are welcome. ESA pets do not qualify as a service animal under ADA guidelines.
What time is check-in at Briar Barn Inn?
Check-in begins at 3 p.m. If available you may request check-in at 2 p.m. for a fee of $50 when approved by the Front Desk Team. We cannot provide access to the guestroom before 2 p.m.
What time is check-out at Briar Barn Inn?
Check-out time is 11 a.m. We ask that you respect our 11 a.m. check-out time, as we need time to prepare our accommodations for incoming guests.
Does Briar Barn Inn offer early check-in or late check-out?
If available, you may request check-in at 2 p.m. for a fee of $50 when approved by the Front Desk Team. We cannot provide access to the guestroom before 2 p.m., and guests are expected to check-out by 11 a.m.
Is parking available at Briar Barn Inn?
Inn Guests may self-park in our parking lot or use street parking as necessary. Complimentary valet parking is offered occasionally dependent on Grove's restaurant and event schedule.
What are the room amenities at Briar Barn Inn?
Complimentary artisan water, iron/board, safe, high-end toiletries, robes/slippers, USB charging ports. Our coffee/tea nooks are 24/7 and we offer a light continental breakfast.
What are the property amenities at Briar Barn Inn?
Our outdoor pool is open Memorial Day through Columbus Day, on-site Spa, on-site restaurant, Grove, a firepit and Adirondack chairs, porch swing and chairs, a common area library/game room and a hydration station.
When did Briar Barn Inn open?
Briar Barn welcomed its first overnight guests in January of 2019, after a year of construction and design.
How many rooms does Briar Barn Inn have?
We have 30 rooms at the Inn (14 King Suites, 2 King ADA Suites, 2 Deluxe King Suites, 2 Grand King Suites, 8 double queen suites and 2 single queen rooms)
Is there a restaurant at Briar Barn Inn?
Yes, we have a Farm-to-table restaurant that serves dinner Wednesday-Friday and Sunday and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. (Reservations are strongly recommended due to event closures)

Beaches and Coasts
North Shore boasts miles of sandy beaches, coastal waterways, and hidden coves. Spend a sunny afternoon at Crane’s Beach in Ipswich or take a sunset walk on Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester. Then stop for fried clams at the Clam Box in Essex or Woodman’s of Essex, a North Shore tradition for more than a century.
Museums
New England’s seafaring history comes to life at the renowned Peabody Essex Museum in nearby Salem, just steps away from the Witch History Museum. Or visit one of the many colonial-era homes that are now open to the public. Art lovers will enjoy the many galleries of Rockport, and the famous Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester, where artists have been inspired by the dramatic seascape for more than a century.
Outdoor Activities
Surrounded by salt marshes, park trails, and miles of shoreline, the North Shore offers outdoor adventures year-round. Kayak or paddleboard on the Essex River, surf the waves in Gloucester or cycle around scenic Rockport. Nature lovers can go bird watching on the Parker River, whale watching off salty Cape Ann, or hiking along the coastal trails of the Essex National Heritage area.

Rowley is known for it’s fantastic antiquing and one of the most famous is Todd Farm, just down the road from Briar Barn Inn. If you are looking for some retail therapy, visit the quaint downtowns of our neighboring towns of Ipswich or Newburyport with boutiques, shops and cafes! Don’t miss a wine tasting at Mill River Winery just a few minutes from us.

Briar Barn Inn is 26 miles (35 minutes) from Boston, Massachusetts—conveniently accessed by route 95 N, RT 1, public transit through Boston's Commuter Rail, and Logan Airport.
Does Briar Barn Inn have a pool?
Yes, our outdoor pool is open Memorial Day to Columbus Day and has ample seating and beverage service.
Is there a mini-bar or mini-fridge in my room?
Yes, there is a stocked mini-fridge with local beers, sodas and wine. We offer a mini-bar menu with snacks as well.
What is Briar Barn Inn's Cancellation policy?
We ask for notice of any room night cancellation or modification by 3:00 p.m. at least 10 days prior to your expected arrival. If you cancel with less than the required notice, your deposit will be forfeited. Any modifications to your reservation dates that are made less than 10 days prior to arrival, except for an extension, will be considered a cancellation. If you are considered a 'no-show' your credit card will be charged the remaining balance for the entire reservation.
Is there a fireplace in my room?
Yes, each room has a gas fireplace.
Do rooms have Microwaves?
There are no microwaves in the rooms.
Do we need reservations for the restaurant?
Yes! Though we do take walk-ins, it is extremely important to make sure the restaurant is open and available for your requested visit. We update special hours for Grove weekly, and reservations are available on Resy.
Does Briar Barn Inn offer room service?
We do not offer room service, but when Grove is open, take-out can be ordered.
What if I'm checking in late? What do I do?
The front desk is staffed 24/7 and you can arrive at any time. We do request any notice in advance if possible if it’s after midnight.
Do we need to make appointments for the Spa?
Yes, the spa is by appointment only. Please use massagebook.com to book or call 978.484.5161.
