Meet and Retreat: Grove at Briar Barn Inn

Our 4-acre property, located in the heart of Boston’s North Shore, offers a relaxing retreat for your business meeting, executive retreat, or team building events. Grove, the full-service restaurant at Briar Barn Inn offers a variety of event spaces for groups between 12-100 to and we will customize your experience to meet your goals – whether you are planning a VIP closed door meeting, or need all 30 guest rooms and meals for a multi-day offsite meeting at our restaurant. Our property is prepared to help you plan and host a memorable meeting or retreat in our farmhouse setting with all the comfort and amenities of a new facility.

Briar Barn Inn and Grove are conveniently located just over 30 miles North of Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, just off of Route 95. We’re a short drive from Portsmouth, New Hampshire (30 miles) and just 45 miles from Manchester Airport in New Hampshire. With a train station just 5 minutes from our door, and options for shuttle services added to your experience, once your guests arrive, they may not want to leave!

Boston’s North Shore is known for rocky coastlines, pristine countryside, charming downtown destinations and scenic New England drives. Our 30-room Inn, restaurant and spa are situated in the middle of many iconic North Shore destinations like Salem, Cape Ann, Newburyport, Ipswich and Essex.

To impress the most distinguished CEO or Executive Board, Briar Barn Inn’s accommodations include the finest amenities – a fireplace in every room, soaking tubs, luxury linen, comfortable robes and slippers, views towards our courtyard paths and tree lined lawns, and the peace and privacy that comes with rooms designed for comfort over economy.

Overnight stays include a continental breakfast (Monday-Friday) served in our Inn’s open and airy silo, with room for informal meetings throughout the inn. If you prefer to get right to work, our restaurant, Grove, is happy to serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or cocktail receptions as part of your day.

Our Space

Our meeting spaces can host as few as 12 or as many as 100 attendees. We’re happy to provide presentation screen, and other audio-visual components as needed and our high-speed wireless internet access is complimentary. Opening in 2019, we’ve already attracted a wide variety of private gatherings — training events, seminars, employee outings, product launches, business meetings and networking receptions. We specialize in a full-service approach to your hosting needs- with rooms, restaurant, and plenty of options for private event locations.

Grove – Main Dining Room

When entering through our main entrance you will see the open concept dining room with hardwood floors, exposed beams, and an open and light-filled room! Our new post-and-beam barn restaurant features rustic farm tables with plenty of seating, black double-ring industrial chandeliers, and a full bar at the far end of the room. This is a great option for larger gatherings between 40-100.

The Bramble House

The first floor of the Bramble House features vaulted ceilings, a private bar, restrooms, a fireplace, and plenty of natural light. The open concept of this area creates a flexible space for a cocktail hour, dinner, or meeting space. The second floor includes a larger private suite, complete with a private restroom, sitting area, and balcony that are well suited for meeting spaces, or as a ready room for speakers or VIP guests.

The Burrow & Terrace

The Burrow is a small private dining room with entrances adjacent to our main dining area. It can be accessed from an outdoor terrace, which has additional seating (weather permitting), bistro lights, and views of our landscaped lawns, fire pit area, and forested surroundings. The Burrow is a petite version of our main dining area with a private bar and restroom and a variety of options to suit your needs.

Library

On the second floor of our Inn across from the Silo, our Library overlooks the beautifully landscaped courtyard and includes a gas fireplace, built-in bookshelves, and comfy seating for a cozy environment. This room can be arranged to suit a private gathering. The library is finished with rustic-chic décor and includes French doors for complete privacy, if needed.

Silo

Just above the lobby at Briar Barn Inn, our Silo is conveniently located in close proximity to the guest rooms. This circular room with a two-story ceiling that has plenty of natural window light is perfect for a welcome reception, presentation, cocktail-style event or as a breakout space.
